Ok, For clarity this is the current situation with the MineColony Mod. It's not "Dead" just mortally wounded It currently has one Dev working on updating it in his spare time from his extensive real life duties... Work is progressing but obviously slowly.. It is being re-coded for Forge and the current Minecraft, which is practically a re-write.. There is no ETA for a release, and any additional changes to minecraft may put it back yet again.. There is also a separate mod in development (Colonies) being developed. This is being done by a team set up by myself and is a collective effort.. Our code is open source, and we welcome anyone who can input to the development. www.mcmresurrection.enjin.com is the site for this. We have the same Dev working on MineColony helping us, and we are mutually benefiting from each others experience. Our mod will be very similar to MineColony, but will incorporate some changes and revisions that we wish to see as well as making it SMP compatible (PvP Minecolony anyone ) The new mod is an equally large project, and although we have a lot of people helping out, it will take time, and we welcome any additional help we can get - we are running it largely as a professional coding project using GitHub as a coding management tool, which allows multiple people to work on the mod simultaneously..

Wow I hope you will add multiplayer to Colonies. Just imagine it-two players create two separate villages/towns/whatever and sends their armies to destroy other village-great fun for all on servers

Forge? : I will not go Forge, sorry. If the new Mods come out requiring more then Modloader , I am Ghost.
As for the newer versions of minecraft : not really a fan but that could be mostly because Minecolony is not working in them yet.
BUT, you guys ARE doing alot .......I might relent, just for the sake of the Mod.
And I just do NOT understand why Minecraft forces total re-writes of Mods to the point that it looses Mod makers.

Well Forge have own ModLoader so if you make Colonies for Risugami's Mod Loader it shouldn't be any trobule.

Mod ladder is now part of forge AAFAIK will not be published as a stand alone mod.. Pretty much every decent well written mod will use forge now... And it's a damn site easier from the users point of view..

I liked the idea of a few others, but honestly: Minecolony Kicks their tails from the get-go just in the preview . I never tried anything but those that worked simply with what I have : but for the new version of the Mod: I WILL give it a try, but only for the colony : Minecraft is nothing without the colony

The problem post 1.2.5 was they changed the code structure MineCraft is based on so all devs had to re-learn how it all worked, which is what killed most mods as they didn't have the time/couldn't be bothered.
MineColony is still being worked on by Ralph, who is working with us and we are learning from each other. HE hasn't offered his code to us to help fix, or pull into the new mod, so the two mods will be different..
MineColony when it does eventually get updated will be minecolony..
Colonies when it comes out (likely after MineColony is updated) will be similar, but different.. The same essential colony building will be there, however we are also aiming for SMP support, with potentially up to 4v4v4v4 faction warfare.. Barbarian villages in SSP as well that will attack you etc. etc. etc.. Were taking the concept of MineColony and pimping it up.. This will obviously take a LONG time to do.. and we are probably still months away from a playable version of the mod.

I'm interested in helping out to get this mod in a working state for the current build. Is there anyway that I could help Ralph? I can work my way through the java code fairly well, as I am mostly a C# guy. Also, I would love to help out on the Colonies project if you guys don't have enough coders.

Yes, we need all the coders we can get! Come over to the colonies site at mcmresurrection.enjin.com/home. Fill out an application and you will be accepted shortly. Ralph has been helping us some but he is still trying to update minecolony as well. Come on over, we're glad to have an extra hand!

I have many of the workers going, i am working on the hunter now. Have the miner, farmer, dman, lumberjack, citizens, builder working so far. Hunter mostly works with his dogs, the arrows just seem to animate strangely.
Next will be baker then guards, then bank/bell and other items.

looks like you need to recruit more coders.
