So I found my problem. I was trying to use the 4096 ids IDresolver and it worked like a champ with every mod I wanted to install except IC2 So now that I got that sorted, I found out I just despise redpower because of the gigantic rubber trees that are EVERYWHERE (why he cant just use the same rubber tree as IC2 is beyond me), the volcanos and marble while I think they are cool are also everywhere. Eloraam's EAQ says not going to provide option to disable them either. Wondering do you guys have any experience with powercraft? It seems like a viable alternative. I know this isnt exactly IC2 + BC either but being as the advanced circuitry seems pretty necessary for nuclear powerplants thought I'd ask. So more to the topic. I'm planning on doing this myself, not so much to get rid of the delivery man, more to supplement the things that are missing. So I'm thinking tools, bread, a fishery and ranch (minefactory, forestry or powercraft) all connected in. Redistribute food & stuff out to houses. Maybe collect scavenged items from houses as well. Finally redistribute excess from the warehouse main chest to all the other chests in the building. One big question I have is how to keep a certain level of item in a certain place. Do any of the item sorters allow you to do that?

I've been planning how to make this work.. the problem I see is you need to deliver items to chests and remove some items from the same chests.. but how do you stop the system that takes items from the chests removing the tools etc..
Obviously you can cycle the tools back to the chest almost immediately, but they would wind up travelling round in an infinite loop fro what I can see.. Unless there is something in IC2/Build craft I don't know of.

There are some filter pipes and what not but I'm having a lot of trouble learning buildcraft. Probably wasn't smart to jump right to trying to build an oil well & refinery (although I got the well part running fine). IC2 was very intuitive, plus there was an excellent tutorial for it.
Last night I decided I might as well go to BC3, I figured out the builder somewhat and I actually got the powerplant built from blueprint, but it doesn't start functioning on its own and it confused me more (granted it was 3AM and I was nodding off).
Powercraft looks like it has the functionality to do it as well and seems much simpler. I am going to give that a whirl as well.
Equivilant Exchange looks like it might be viable as well.
Since I started with a clean install and the ID resolver I have been able to jam in almost every industry related mod there is (except the buildcraft extras) with 6 blocks to spare.
I'm also trying to evaluate minefactory reloaded vs forestry mod vs powercraft for the functions they provide. Although mostly it is to fill in the production gaps that havent been filled yet in Minecolony until new npcs are made to fill those functions.

Glad to see others thought with IC2 and BC.
I am currently running: BC + Forestry + IC2 + Railcraft + millenaire + Minecolony
what did you do to get miner to go after the copper and tin?

Didn't have to do anything he will go after any new ore. I get lots of copper, tin and uranium too. Not sure about the agapite (just installed forestry)

I'm running the latest technic pack right now, which also includes Tale of Kingdoms, millenaire, and equivalent exchange. Step 1, sell some stuff to the millenaire village. Step 2, take the millenaire money and sell it to the Tale of Kingdoms vendor for a MASSIVE amount of cash. Step 3, buy as many golden apples from the other tale of kingdoms vendor. Step 4, Transmute golden apples as you see fit. Within about 2 hours you can have everything in EE, and all the other mods after a few more as well.
Tale of Kingdoms Blacksmith - "Lets see what you have here... Hmm... some diamonds, gold.... eh... I'll give you something for th..... OMG A DENIER ARGENT? MUST HAVE NAO!"
It's definitely game breaking when a diamond sells for a few thousand gold and a stack of denier argents sells for about 600k gold.
I really only took advantage of it after an ogre from mo'creatures completely demolished my factory. Note, never leave minecraft up to let your diamond generator run overnight if you have mo'creatures installed. You will wake up to a crater where your house used to be.

I have EE installed but I have yet to play with any of its features. ToK is gamebreaking as it is though. My last game I made a fortune just buying diamonds cheap and selling high (the stockmarket).
I enjoy some of the slick things a lot of these mods do but after the wow factor is gone if they aren't very balanced they get uninstalled. It's one of the things I like about Minecolony. Sure you can tradeup iron and gold for diamonds at the bank, but there are limits. Not to mention the tier 4 citizens are supposed to use diamonds.
LOL. Yeah I have such mixed feelings about Mo Creatures. I love the variety and the horses but man I wish there was more control over the spawn. I finally set the chance to 0 for most of the hunter mobs because they just decimate my villagers even on easy (and I normally play hard).

More control would definitely be nice. I'd get rid of the damned ogres and werewolves. Yeah, the fact the werewolves drop a golden apple is nice if you happen to kill them, but actually killing them takes forever.
Plus some control over the ToK prices would be good too, if that doesn't already exist. I'd have to do some math to bring some balance to it all.

BTW shouldnt SILVER weapons kill werewolves alot quicker.. Just dawned on me - been hacking at them with a diamond sword - might try a silver one

They should pmardle, but since silver doesnt exist in vanilla Doc made it so you need gold. I don't know about silver swords and werewolves, havent tried. A good trick is get them to chase you onto ice because they run so fast they will fling themselves miles away at high speed. Or if you are using ToK you can run like a little girl to your guards and they will kill it. Speaking of alternate materials, Minecolony workers wont recognize IC2 bronze tools You can actually change the spawnrates for each mob in Mo creatures though Vega, look under global options menu, I have set the bears and big cats to 0 until I figure out some way to protect villagers from them. So I've found the forge building that someone here made actually makes a nice little starter shop for some machinery. There is a nice long wall to set down machines, cable, battery box, punch a cable through the roof for some solar panels (dont forget to add some lights) I'm still trying to decide between Buildcraft & Powercraft for crafting options (and redstone logic), but as I started a new game this weekend I've just got all my level 1 colony buildings built and my first few IC2 machines up and running. Minefactory is the only one that has an automated fisher (placeholder for Minecolony fisherman..although moot right now since as best I can determine villagers dont actually eat yet). PC has ranching options I believe. Forestry only handles plants but one of the nice things is it handles IC2 rubber trees. Oh by the way, I posted about IC2 and the 4096 items incompatibility, RichardG says it will be fixed next release. Also I found out that the 4096 ids and mcedit (my favorite map editor) dont seem to be compatible. World will open but entire grid is empty. If you unpatch 4096 ids, then it works fine, but it is a pita. Because I am anal I actually went and threw down colored blocks for where I wanted to put all my Minecolony chests so I have a template of sorts.

I haven't made much progress (probably since I keep starting new games to test new mods, but as I am down to 2 block ids left and there are about 6 major mods I am waiting for to update to 1.1 (inlcuding Minecolony) my installation is stabilized for now.
So the level 4 townhall also has a lot of nice space. I've also since learned windmills kick the crap out of solarpanels in ic2. So right now I've got a nice little shop in the attic. A windmill 40 pieces of tin cable above the roof batbox. A solar panel on the side for a little supplemental power.
Getting ready to setup an EE lab on the other side of the attic and a Thaumcraft lab on the 2nd floor. So many mods so little time.
I decided to ditch minefactory since I am not confidant about it being updated, it uses an awful lot of block ids when I really only want a few pieces from it and there are other mods that have most of the same functions which are still actively being worked on (forestry, powercraft).
