Does anyone play multiplayer? I miss playing, and I'm thinking with 1.8 coming out, now's not a bad time to start looking for a decent server to play on.

my friend and I will be starting a server as soon as we get some coders, moderators, and donations to start the server... we could use more people on it when we get it up!

I would be interested in joining that server when it's up, but sadly I cannot make donations.
As far as I'm aware, minecolony doesn't work for SMP (just FYI)
And if there's one thing I'd love to see, it's some sort of economy mod (I always seem to have extra stuff to sell)

I started playing MP with some RL gaming community friends, but they insisted on loading the server with tons of mods, which IMO ruined the game play (and also meant the server was down for a week or two after each update while the mods are fixed).. Mods are great, but only used in MODeration

I like basic multiplayer mods, like grief protection and chest locking. Economy systems are nice, if done correctly. MCmmo looks interesting, too. As pmardle said though, more mods = more downtime when updates come out.
One of these days, I'll get my real computer fixed, and turn this box into a server again. >.<

One thing I've been known to do is create a gauntlet kind of adventure using my redstone experience. It's normally after I've created a massive mine and I need to do something with the strip mined area, lol
But yeah, grief protection, chest locking, and some kind of economy. Those three sound great to me

I've done the dungeon creation on MP too... traps, labyrinth with steel doors that takes ages to figure out the route through due to multiple interlocking etc. (all the while with dark rooms above and drop down holes for mobs to constantly refill the labyrinth

Also - I'd probably be up for a nice Multiplayer home at some point too... won't be a super active player, and I promise not to fire arrow trap your wooden house

My houses are generally hillside castles with their own dispenser defenses, lol

I tend to go for the home built into a nice sheer cliff myself

I promise not to fire arrow trap your wooden house This is why I've never been able to have that treehouse I've always dreamed of. *sniffle*

I'm also a self proclaimed expert of traps. Great for dungeons but I would be a god on a pvp server, lol

I've been poking at a server today... but they seriously need a reset. I'm sure they'll reset when 1.8 comes out but yeah.
I'm tearing down someone's old abandoned house. I have over 4 stacks of mushrooms that literally took over the area.

I actually play on a server called Immortalus. It's an RP server, but right now the main map is under maintenance. We've been playing the adventure island playset, and have two outposts on two islands. We're in desperate need of players right now though, as the old admin stole most of the members by resurrecting an old server he had abandoned.
