I think they were going to replace MFR with Forestry or something, to free up the blockIDs. I dunno. I do not pack/code mods. Digging around for the crossover mod, it's available for the version previous to mine, and the version after. Blarg. I'm only just now making anything from Buildcraft, so it's not a big deal. The IC2 miner just doesn't compare to the Buildcraft quarry. Especially considering that the IC2 miner just digs up ores, and not cobble... and I got my philosopher's stone now. There are almost NO diamonds on my section of the map! Industrial diamond can only be used for certain things. >.< I did install the newest Craftguide... but when I installed the addons for craftguide, the search disappeared. >.< NEI crashes my Minecraft. It's probably some conflict with something from Technic. So. TMI for me, even thought NEI looks awesome. BAH API. I hate how they were all like "Yeah, we'll make an official API. Totally coming next update!" and then never even mention it again.

Tehkrush is taking care of MFR now. He just updated it to 1.1, although it is conflicting with something. He took over all of Powercrystals mods so he will be updating that BC/IC2 converter as well (it is a different mod than the one I linked). There is also a 3rd crossover mod but I think last version was MC 1.8.3
Come to think of it, Powercrystals one might be compatible with the version you are using(same thread as old MFR)
New IC2 actually deprecated industrial diamonds, now (well, when you update) you make regular diamonds. So save all that coal! (besides you need lots of carbon plates for other goodys anyway).
Wierd. I noticed I am missing the search now too I thought maybe it was recipe helper (which hasnt been updated so I dont have it atm) that added that functionality. There are a few GUI mods and APIs that are very bitchy about the load order. They dont seem to cause crashes but I usually notice since they tend to break minimap.
Did you install Chickenbones core for NEI? Also you need to uninstall TMI first (theres an uninstaller on his page too). I use most of the mods from Technic, but it is always possible there's a conflict. Could have to do with installation order too.
I agree the miner and the quarry serve different functions since they do things very differently. I started a new world (again) and I am feeling the pain of no Minecolony. I forgot how much it sucks having to do my own mining (although I did find a single vein of 8, yes EIGHT diamonds!). No EE for 1.1 either. After hours finally got the IC2 miner setup, next step is a rubber plantation and then quarrys.

Yeah, I just looked at PowerCrystal's converter mod. Dling it now and going to try that later tonight. My brother got NEI working with Technic, so I musta screwed something up... he corrupted one of his save games while doing so though... somehow. I had the core, and I hadn't even dl'd TMI yet. I was updating CraftBook, so I probably just got myself mixed up and put stuff in the wrong place. Heh, yeah. I was actually making diamonds with EE... I made 3 industrial diamonds to make a pickaxe for obsidian so I could go to the nether and get glowstone dust for the philosopher's stone. There are so many recipes that require diamonds, but don't work with industrial diamonds, because they're for buildcraft and the like. I don't mind doing my own mining. I'm more efficient than the MineColony miner anyway. AND I won't get lost in a cave. I don't like doing my own logging though. Unless I'm using like treecapitator, monster trees suck so bad... and even then, you have to wait for leaf decay before half the wood drops. I'm debating between dling MineColony for 1.0 or just waiting for 1.1 to play it again. The wireless on my laptop works, but I actually play on my computer without internet... so I have to transfer files via flashdrive whenever I want something off the internet.

You can make glowstone dust in IC2, but it is expensive (4 gold dust, 5 redstone dust) EE got a major rebalancing (nerfing) with the new version. I am still figuring it out (massive changes), but I think the changes are for the better.
I can't believe that Daftpvf hasn't updated anything besides treecapitator. I really miss ingame info, whats my light level isnt doing it for me.

Hm. I have EE 5.7.3 and it doesn't seem too OP, honestly. Especially with the other mods I'm using... Yes, I'm making a bunch of diamonds, but most of those are going to Buildcraft machines (seriously, why do only like 2 machines use wood gears? Why does everything useful require diamond gears??). I haven't even made any of the blocks from EE... I'm still saving materials for them, as I don't know where to set up my EE room...
