Hi mates, i played minecolony for the first time yesterday and it was great, but after having read about gamecrashes (or just bugs) when trying to build some levels of buildings, i was cautious not to exceed level 2 or 3 on buildings. so i'm asking if someone could gather the information on all buildings and levels that are proven to work without any error. maybe something that could be printable as a quick reference? also i found that some buildings are being built one block deep into the ground and place a fundament/ground work, while others go 2 blocks deep maybe with even a basement added later and even others dont even change the ground layer. thats a little bit confusing about how to prepare the destinated area for a building. my pc isnt the fastest and switching out of the game to start the browser and look it up is a real pain-in-the-a** thanks

You can find all floorplans in the resources/floorplan folder and see how many levels which hut has.
There is no crash if you will upgrade hut to higher level then it has. Just builder say that floorplan is missing. In rc17 you can't upgrade building if there are no upgrades anymore.
Check Minecolony wiki to read advices how high or deep is better to build huts. Feel free to add more info to the wiki.

ok, thanks on another note: yesterday, i upgraded the townhall and it grew into another building and destroyed it. i wouldnt have built there, if there would've been some markers of how big my townhall would become when upgrading. i know the builder prepairs the area for upgrades already on level 1, but there are no markers included. would be a great addition to just have one single fence element in each corner of the future building grounds. just an idea

It is easy enough to do. Just open up the file for townhall1, replace the corners with fencepost or whatever you want. Or if you use Rei's minimap, turn on the chunk marker grid and a good rule of thumb is don't build in a 3x3 chunk area around the townhallchest. Most other Minecolony buildings you just need to keep them a chunk apart.

A guide would probably still be useful. As for the glitchy buildings, right now it's just the buildings with wool... and 16b fixed that for almost everyone.

The information is just off the wiki. I don't have what level to place most of the chests, so I assume ground level, except where specified. I also don't have the dimensions of the Warehouse. I don't have the MineColony files on this computer, so if someone else wants to check that, that'd be awesome. Otherwise, it'll wait until I decide I want to play MineColony on 1.0 or until I get it for 1.1.
You can save this just as a text file, and once it's actually complete, I'd suggest the devs add it to the MineColony files as a guide, like the builder/floorplan guide.
Building Guide
Each building at least goes 1 block down to create the floor.
Chest Buildings These buildings are built through a chest menu.

Farmer Hut 2 upgrades 9Lx9Wx9H
Citizen Home 3 upgrades 12Lx12Wx15H

Miner Hut 2 upgrades 9Lx9Wx5H
Town Hall 2 upgrades 26Lx21Wx16H
Warehouse 1 upgrade

Bank 1 upgrade 11Lx11Wx9H Sign 6th block from the right, 6th block from forward edge.

i must admit some form of flag for the final size automatically included would be great. I built a house to hold my tunnel for my train station near the town hall, about 2-3 spaces away to the side. Then I read about the upgrades and upgraded my town hall. Next thing I know the town hall built a side room that smashed halfway through my house and ruined it.

You can edit the floorplans yourself to have them build a fencepost at the edges. It's not an ideal solution, but it does work.
