If your going hunting for the chests purely to destroy them for this purpose, flip the game to peaceful temporarily...

What is the radius that the Builder will travel from his builder chest to gather supplies from another chest? I'm guessing his builder range... as set in the minecolony.properties file (100 blocks default iirc)

Ahh. Okay. The chest he finds are the chests in the caves underneath the ground (like in abandoned mineshafts). Sometimes they actually have something he could use. You don't know about the chests, but the builder doesn't know that. So he tries to find a path to the underground mineshaft. Its an exhaustive search. I really hope you're wrong about that because that means I have to go down into the mines and destroy those chests and I am not looking forward to that... I'm still not used to the miner's layouts, and the last 2 times I even went near the mineshaft a creeper came up out of it and put a shiny new crater where my mining shack used to be. (SSSSSSssssay that's a nice EVERYTHING you have there...) Either destroy the chests or give him what he wants or, remove the sign until you find what he wants and then put the sign back.

What he wanted was over 80 wool. Sadly, sheep around my town are lacking - I have to go outside the town's borders to find them at about 3-12 per day. I haven't found any chests underground that could be responsible but they could be anywhere horizontally within my town's borders right? So I ended up using InvEdit to give myself the necessary wool. Anyway I've noticed another bug, which is that various workers will complain that they will not work until their salary is paid. Seems like the message itself is erroneous as they have been paid and they continue to work. (that might be because I told them that the beatings would continue until morale improved)

(that might be because I told them that the beatings would continue until morale improved) I've noticed that the workers seem to offer conversation about their last situation, rather than their current situation. The builder often says to me "all finished" as he walks by, on the way to start a building project. Which is different from "I see a sign, going to check it out" which he only seems to say first thing in the morning. So I'm guessing that the "I won't work until paid" message is old news from yesterday, before this morning's payroll was handed out.

I think the devs have said elsewhere they are going to reprogramme the guards so they are not naturally hostile mobs, so this should fix this issue...

Have you built the level 1 house for those citizen chests ??
Don't expect it too soon.. 1.3.1 changed A LOT under the bonnet and a mod of this size takes a lot of time to fix each update.. at least a few weeks i'd say !!

I know that 1.3.1 changes a lot. damn Mojang promised that with 1.3 update moding(creating, installing etc.) will be easy but they're lied us...AGAIN!(just like with relase date of Beta 1.8 aka Adventure Update)

They might have said it would come AFTER 1.3 and in fact have just opened up a GitHub project for the Minecraft API, which is how modding will be accomplished for Minecraft.

1.3.1 compatibility is a loooong way off. I barely have citizens spawning and checking into their houses. Even the supply chest isn't working quite right. They changed so much, its almost like starting from scratch. There is very little support for custom npcs.
Forge may help in this regard, i am watching their boards as well as modloader.

Rscott6666, no matter how much you hear it, thankyou. Thankyou for all the time you (and the other devs) put into fixing this, into getting it working, up to date, and all the additions. It's quite an achievement, what you've done already, but to have constant curveballs, like 1.3.1 thrown at you, shows amazing dedication, and just, whenever it's done, even if it takes a month, I'm sure to all of us, it will be worth the wait. Thankyou again.

I can't seem to get people to become workers anymore, I have at least 3 citizens that have homes but do not take on new jobs, I've increased the walking range, there was a citizen right next to a miner's chest that was available for a job opening but he just walked away
