So want to try playing Minecraft on Hardcore with the Minecolony Mod.... I've been playing Minecraft on Hardcore mode in the pre-releases and it brings so much more to the game.. it's amazing how you change your game play when death actually means death I seem to get 10-20 hours into a world and then either die trying to clear an abandoned mine spawn, or to silent creepers (Iron armour is a must in Hardcore mode) One Hardcore game recently I even had a suit of iron armour with the explosion enchant on it which was awesome anti-creeper stuff till I took an unexpected lava bath - evil very hard to see 1 block gap between nether walkways in the new nether

Are you going to play on hard? or normal?
Because depending on what you choose, you get different materials when you place the town hall block down.

Hard is the only option when playing Hardcore mode (you can't change it)

And I didn't realise the difficulty affected the resources you get

I didn't realize the difficulty was hard when i started my last world. I got nothing. Was a long road to get myself to be self sufficient.

try it with Level up mod, more creeps and weirdos and mo creatures. edit, playing around with some seed names today, came acrossed a world I named orderly_chaos and Seed Chaos Spawned on an island with nothing but grass. Swam to other islands and found them with reeds and flowers. Kept swimming and found an island with one tree on it. Got three saplings and planted them. I made a mistake and made planks from all my wood and didn't save any to make charcoal. Now sitting in my carved out shelter in the dark with one wood pickaxe and one stone pickaxe.
