I didn't know where to put this so I just started a new thread if that's ok. I was just wondering if anyone knows how to reduce/eliminate lag in minecraft?

Turn your graphics settings from Fancy to Fast
Reduce the viewing distance (This also stops the Java out of memory crashes if you get that..)
Hope it helps

OptiFine. It fixes some inefficient code, and also gives you more options, such as turning the clouds off.

I also find that sometimes its the other software like browsers that cause problems. I was very surprised to see performance improve alot when i closed firefox.
