Heyo Everyone! I really like this mod, it's great to be able to play Settlers style gameplay in minecraft (yeah I know..it's ANNO but it kinda resembles settlers ) Anyway, I would like to scan buildings I create and then use the builder to construct them. I know it should be possible in RC14 (which I have installed), and I have figured out that the keyword "scan" does something (the builder went over there), but How do I use this command correctly? There is no wiki entry, it is mentioned that the builder page should contain this info but it doesn't, so please help us all out and post a guide or something for scanning. Thanks

I think you place a sign down facing the direction you want to scan. The top line should say scan. The next line should be 3 numbers indicating the half-width height depth of the area to be scanned.
The builder should run over, then do the scan (placing the file in the floorplan folder named 0.floorplan.

thnkas, gonna play around with that a little EDIT: Okay, gonna paste her what I find, might be usefull to someone. For scanning you place a sign in front of the building you want to scan, the first line contains "scan", the second contains, Half width (X coord), e.g. the width you want to scan in each X direction. The second line is for Y, e.g. height, it's the full height which should be scanned, e.g. 12 == sign height + 12 blocks. the third it Z or length, and it means just that, how many blocks BEHIND the sign should be scanned. tried with normal and negative number, and both do the same. Ok, so here's the round-up: 1. Place a sign infront of the building you want scanned. Place the sign in the middle. 2. First line of the sign says: scan 3. second line is in 3 parts: 3.1: the first is the half-width (left and right from the sign) of the building you're scanning 3.2: the second value is the height of the building you want scanned (allways give +1 extra...just to be sure ) 3.3: The third is the length of the building, e.g. how many blocks to scan BEHIND the sign, beware, the code starts counting on the same block as the sign is set. 3.4 Now you have in your floorplans folder, a new floorplan called 0 or 1 or whatever the next free number is. 3.5 Have fun! hope that helps someone, and thanks rscott6666 for the help!

Oops. I guess I forgot to put that information in there. Well, it's there now!
Thanks for explaining it clearly, rscott and nethawk. It made it a lot easier to quickly put the information on the builder page.

Can I suggest the mod includes a blank floorplan for levelling off ground as part of the mod.. I know we can scan/create one ourselves, but if the mod could come with 2-3 pre made "open space" plans that would be awesome.. Suggest an 8x8x8, a 12x12x12 and a 16x16x16 floorplan Could be called Space8 Space12 Space16 OR add to the mod the function on the sign.. "Clear" So if you place a sign and name it "Clear" on the first line, and then 3 numbers on the second i.e. 4 8 8 - in the format x y z where x = No. of blocks to left and right of sign to clear, y = number of blocks away from sign to clear, z = height of area to clear. Again that would be awesome.....

Clearing is an interesting idea for a command. Clear on the first line, and width, depth on the second line.
At one point i had considered trying out the idea that the citizens would wander and gradually smooth out the town landscape over time. Always taking the highest block and moving it to the lowest area. It would be interesting to see if it works but it may also just mess things up.

I think Ender-Citizens would be a bad idea... - far too much scope for them to wreck the place... You could use the citizens in that manner to via a "Level" command on a sign, with the 3 numbers to define the area, - they level the area to the height the sign is placed at...

The only thing i'm considering for citizens is automatically repairing the houses they live in.

I thin you should keep the builder for that task.. Maybe make the builder Auto-Repair houses (if he has the materials) when he is idle with no other build orders
