Dose this actually exist? The link on the wiki just goes to a wiki page with the Image. Was looking around the wiki and it seems rather confusing when we have links and posts about various versions of Minecolony and such all over the place (some on Wiki, some on Forums. I think we should consolidate everything into one easily navigable, and easily updateable/manageable source.. If there is no MineColony Website already in existence (other than the Wiki) - I might be willing to host a site for this mod... let me know !! www.minecolonymod.net to current Test Site - please leave feedback on style/layout rather than content at this stage...

Personally I believe the wiki and this forum are more than sufficient... extra sites might confuse people.

Ok, just the information is very spread out across both the Wiki and forums, and we get a lot of people using the wrong versions with the wrong clients and such..

Yes, the wiki needs work. The versions of the mod, as well as the Minecraft versions they go with, have been posted pretty much everywhere on this forum. I don't think it'd be difficult for anyone to find, and they *can* ask on the help section if they're still confused.
Right now, we have a lot of people posting problems about versions because they seem to not read any of the information (on the MC forums, or on this forum) about MineColony not being compatible with Minecraft 1.0.0, and also not looking at the other posts about the same problem.
tl;dr - The information's there, and not hard to find or access. People just aren't bothering.

I must admit if I came looking for the mod I would expect the "Download" link on the wiki to be up to date... If I had to search through various different posts on the forum to find the right version I probably wouldn't bother...
Would also be good if the download file name actually related to the Minecraft version no-one will know from 08rc12 what version of minecraft that is for.. if it was 08rc12[for1.7.0] for instance that would help people get the right versions as well..
What would be good would be 1 single "DOWNLOAD" page, with a link to the relevant download for ALL VERSIONS, past and present..
Very Clear, Easy to Update (no amending links, just adding new ones)
I was offering to set up a site for this (with perhaps the domain http://www.minecolony.net) and host the download files and such....

If you did that I'd suggest contacting whoever owns the current site. I agree that too many sources of info gets too busy, and 3 sites is the brink. Definitely for a good looking webpage to show off the mod.

Ok, I've created a base site kind of the way I want it to go... 79.170.40.72/HostingPreview?siteId=d7113ab5a8b871b92d9b243921e5b33cThat is a trial site available for the next 3 days only... Obviously Content needs to be added, and the graphics changed/edited to include Minecraft/Minecolony images etc... Can I get any initial feedback here on what's there, changes to make etc... URL will be... www.minecolonymod.net when it's fully published...

Get the installation instructions from the wiki. You only need one link to the ModLoader page. All earlier versions of ModLoader are availiable there. Direct linking is not a good idea. You should also link to the current installation vid. (There's a link in the forum's FAQ thread.)
Your First Steps section needs quite a bit of work. You should be explaining why things should be done, and not just the order they should be done. When talking about crafting blocks, you should link to the wiki page or to the relevant section on your crafting recipes page. This sentence: "2. (Optional) Craft & Place the Supply Chest which is 5 Boats in the same arrangements " doesn't really make sense. I'd take out everything after Supply Chest and just have a link to the crafting recipe. When you talk about the Town Hall chest, it sounds like the structure will be built as soon as you place the chest. Settlers also don't spawn from the Town Hall chest; they spawn a short distance away from it, and gather at the Town Hall chest. They don't become Citizens until they have a Citizen's chest. You also don't explain that you will have to actually build houses to get more than the first few people to work, or that you can get more than 8 villagers by building houses. Why not take the information you have in the How Villagers Work page and put it here? You wrote that thread, after all. If you do that, then not only will people actually understand how the game works, but the Citizens section won't be necessary.
Make sure to add links to the relevant wiki pages on the crafting recipes page.
The forums have a FAQ thread. I suggest linking to that, because having multiple FAQ pages is bound to be confusing for new people. If you have a suggestion for a question to add to the FAQ, just let me know.
Instead of having the forums link go to a page with just a link to these forums, I'd change it to link directly here.
People can post pictures here, and don't. They can also put pictures on the wiki... and don't. One of the things I did when I was working on the wiki was add a bunch of pictures, because there weren't very many at all.
You need to change your font type and size. It's too small to read very well. Be sure to format your links correctly so that they're also easier to read. The easiest solution is to not have a black background, but you can use CSS to change the link colors so they're readable on black. (I'd tell you how, but it's been years since I've done anything with HTML/CSS, so I don't remember off the top of my head anymore.)
Make sure to add links to the ModLoader thread on the Minecraft Forums, a link to the installation vid, and the MineColony Wiki.

Nice input CoconutCurry, thorough and appreciated - The style is modern-industrial arts/ cityscape themed.. far from minecraft or minecolony.
- Text is hard to read, for reasons mentioned above (probably not a problem if design is changing)
- You'll be putting work into this site, and you're also a top replier here.. so refer the faqs to this site or the wiki and/or don't do posting on this new website. (Don't create too large of a workload for yourself, is what I'm saying. )
- Remember that the more content you add, the harder it is to keep it organized. From your posts I can tell you value that; keeping concise rundowns and links to more information (here, wiki, youtube) will help to keep things efficient.
I have a few semesters in webdesign, and I'm a language major; can contribute input/content or proofread if asked. ((BTW CoconutCurry, had finals recently, had to give them attention when I made a similar offer, sorry. I'm still up for it however. o.o ))
