Just for the sake of stating the flippin' obvious, :-) Minecolony won't work with V1.1, as Modloader doesn't work...
Is that right?
On a completely unrelated note, :-) is there an easy way to downgrade from 1.1 to 1.0?

Modloader has been updated but I haven't tried it since forge isnt updated and all the other cool mods use it. I somehow doubt Minecolony is going to work without tweaking.

MC Nostalgia is great, it can let you backdate to any version or patch you want, such as 1.7.3 if you liked that patch and have the mods still dated for that one.
But yes, it can take you back to 1.0.0 also

This is why I keep all Zip files of all mod versions I have downloaded safe somewhere... I'll see if I have a ModLoader 1.0.0 file tucked away somewhere I could upload (Later when I get home form work.)

I no longer play Minecraft without Minecolony, so I'm waiting to upgrade to 1.1 for Minecolony as well...

Andy, you can change the ranges in the minecolony.properties file. It will be in the root of your minecraft folder (.minecraft) R-click, openas, use the texteditor of your choice (notepad, etc)
The relevant section is something like this (forget if these are default values or mine): [Options] townHallRange=100 - this is the range of the entire city. I am not sure what exactly it does but I believe it is how far away from the townhall chest you can place a building chest. Bear in mind the active chunks the game loads is 15x15. That means if you stand at the townchest roughly 120 tiles out is all that will be active. blockPlacingLimit=20 - Pretty sure this is how far away the builder can build from the spot he is standing. citizenWalkingRange=15 - How far wives patrol around their chest. farmerWorkingRange=9 - How far the farmer farms, more or less. He seems to go further, but I am counting from the chest itself. Not sure where the game counts. lumberjackWorkingRange=20 - How far from the lumberjack chest the lumberjack will go cut. minerWorkingRange=20 - How far out the miner mines from the minechest. hunterWorkingRange=100 - Hunters working range from his chest. builderWorkingRange=100 - How far away the builder will go to build. builderInstabuild=false - Does what it says (builder builds instantly when true) builderInfiniteResources=false - Also does what it says (builder doesnt need resources when true) warningBellVisionRange=40 - range the bell detects mobs at. creeperSafetyRange=20 - Havent got a clue what this does. Maybe the range the hunter trys to stay from creepers but his dogs will run right up on it anyway.

Would be nice if those explenations were integrated as comments to the properties file so everyone knows what the options are used for. Good work ldog! Maybe some dev could solve the dubiety of some options?

Lol Vega. I thought they were in for a while. It's what has been recommended to everyone to try if they are having problems with the builder.
After observing today the farmer seems to calculate range from the edge of the building (don't forget to count the roof overhead) while he still will farm a little bit further out in an odd pattern (looking for seeds maybe) he definitly forms a circle 9 square out from there eventually.
The others might as well (from the building edge not the chest as I thought originally). The lumberjack seems a bit lazy in general and doesn't seem to go out to the end. Miner definitly is going further out than 20 from the chest too.

Yes it does The new blocks likely won't appear though so you still have to craft them manually ( well they didn't last time I used creative with the mod at least)
