The floorplan files are created in any text editor, like notepad.exe. In the MineColony download, there should be a file named builder.txt. This file contains a lot of information about the builder, and about floorplans.
There is a list of 2 character combinations. These codes tell the builder what material to use. There are some small sample floorplans that show how this works.
Start your notepad file with:
v 2 structure
Then you will use 3 numbers that determine how the floorplan is positioned relative to the build-sign (which is the sign you place that tells the builder to construct the building). The first number is how many blocks to the right. The second number is how many blocks down. The third number is how many blocks behind the sign.
3 0 -1 would be 3 blocks to the right, on ground level, and one block in front of the sign.
The best way for me to learn was to experiment and see what happened.
Then you just fill in the codes for how you want the structure to be built. Put "level" in between each level of blocks, so the builder knows to go up one level.
Hopefully that helps.
