Hey mates, i wondered if its any use making a village in the nether, or if it just plain useless... main questions would be: -does the miner actually go after glowstone and mine netherrack? -does the hunter attack ghasts, zombie-pigmen, magma cubes or whatever lurks there? does the farmer plant nether-warts and mushrooms there? -do all NPCs freak out due to the lack of day-night-cycle?
and last: -if its not working, is there a way to fix it?
thanks

It won't work in the nether, as it's constantly "night" in there.. Thus all your villagers will be permanently asleep

too bad... would be a nice change if the villagers would recognize if they're in the nether and either just stay awake or use some pseudo day-night-cycle.

It would be cool if in the nether you could build an expedition of sorts. Instead of a town hall you build a "fortress" chest. maybe have a demon hunter npc, and a glowstone miner that would search in a 100 block radius instead of working like the standard miner.

The problem I would have with villagers in the nether right now is pathfinding. *I* get lost sometimes in there... and with the nether basically being floating islands over a massive lava ocean...

I see where you're going with that. I bet that's a nightmare. I wonder if the new AI that's getting added to the game will be useful to the mod?
