Similar to the Hunter, what do we like/dislike about the Delivery Man, What in an ideal world would you like to see changed and improved ?

My Thoughts.. Let the delivery man use the additional chests that are built at various levels of his hut. If code was added similar to the many economy mods, where a sign placed adjacent to the chest with an item code on it meant the delivery boy deposited those items in that chest, would be a fantastic addition. This shouldn't impact on the upgrade signs on the actual delivery boys chest, as you would need to keep that as the default chest.. Enable him to deliver food to the citizens (in conjunction with the release of the baker perhaps ) Maybe add a toggleable setting to each MineColony chest to say whether the delivery boy includes it in his rounds or not.. (This could also be expanded to include a "Let builder take resources from" tag as well )

Didn't Scott already mention that he's already got the Deliveryman using the other chests in the next version? He also said he's actively working on the bread thing.
I agree on the "Let builder take resources from" toggle, but I'd prefer them being on my chests, and not the MineColony chests. >.<
I'd like if he took ALL the items from the Citizen chests (except bread) so I don't have to go around and pick up spider eyes and wool every once in awhile.

Bread and the miners chest are my next 2 goals for the dman. I want him to take everything from the miner except the tools, rather than just stuff he recognizes.
Adding the toggles is a good thing, but will be too much work now, i have to take more of a look at the gui toolkits people are writing for minecraft. Not all the elements are there for me to use yet.

Yea appreciate toggles must be hard work.. Was really listing them as a long term goal, not expecting it in the next update or anything

Thought we had this discussion already but don't see my post. *shrugs* Guess it was another thread.
I still think removing houses from his route and letting the women manage shipping and recieving for their own household is a better idea than having him deliver food.
I think what you (Scott) have planned with using item already in chest as a filter is perfect. Sure it might not be elegant but simple & effective works for me. That is basicly how a BC diamond pipe works (there may be a GUI but you have to put items you want to sort in it anyway)
