You ever need to level a chunk of ground? Or clean up a mess? Or strip mine a really big hole? Now you no longer need to clear out an area with your shovel and pickaxe and hatchet; you can get your minions to do it for you. This floorplan, demolish, clears out a 16x16x16 cube, and lines the floor with grassy dirt. Place the sign so that the lower left corner of the cube is directly behind it. Note that all items in the cube will be collected by the builder and put in his chest. He is even able to recover glass. Download Link

Interesting. I made one for myself and called it "clear", but it didn't occur to me that other people might have a use for it.

What you may discover is that the builder harvests lava, and you can end up with a lot of it. The solution? Geothermal Generator Heaven!
I used a deployer loaded with still lava on a timer, next to another deployer loaded with emty buckets. The timer triggers both deployers; one places the still lava into the world, and the other buckets it up. When there is no more buckets to fill, then nothing happens -- if you set up right. It's a bit fiddly, because there is a dependence on orientation that changes with every square. Just pick a spot for lava, then test the deployer in all four directions from that square, one of them will stop deploying when there's lava already placed, and the others will just keep placing lava.
Anyway, the bucket deployer is hooked up to two systems; an advanced wooden pipe that sends full buckets to a holding chest, and a supplier logistics pipe that requests one empty bucket from that same holding chest. The holding chest has two connnections: a basic logistics pipe set to default=true, that attaches to both the wooden full-bucket-return and a provider logistics pipe left on empty=all that connects to the bucket-filling deployer.
So that network then attaches to a liquid supplier pipe hooked to geothermal generator. End result is that I can put nine stacks of 64 still lava into the lava supply deployer, and the geothermal generator will run for a very long time unattended.

I just wish my miner would respect MY idea of a mineshaft. I hate going down into the mines now because of the unholy mess I keep finding.

I never go into my miner's maze anymore... every single time I get hopelessly lost within like 15 seconds.

For early game mining needs, check out the Minions Mod They also do a good job of carving out room spaces, and bringing farm animals back to a pen.

I mine myself, since I prefer my system (mining out large rooms instead of creating mazes), and when I get enough resources I use Computercraft turtles to do it for me.

For early game mining needs, check out the Minions Mod They also do a good job of carving out room spaces, and bringing farm animals back to a pen. Actually : for those that do not or can not use Forge ( like me ) and are willing to hit the mines with a companion : MyPeople : the clone is slightly better for mining along side of you, just be sure to turn off a feature as soon as your done or you risk damage to your villages if the clones detect ore or unprocessed wood : I often use blocks the builders bring me using Demolish and use them in decorations/ storage in some houses. I still use the regular MineColony Miners : but taking the Clones with me to clean up what the miner leaves or hit holes I found has been profitable for the villages in getting that Community Poolhouse and Spa built** or that nice fancy Medieval house (** it is actually that fancy TownHall floorplan but it always seems to get built over spots of water under one of the wings)
