Keep your back to the entry doors when you click to upgrade.

What just happened with me is that when i tried upgrading the house, the builder basically made a stone house with the wooden one still there, not bothering to tear the old house down or anything.

Do you use Minecolony RC14 and Minecraft 1.8.1? When you build a house and you want upgrade him, you must have you back to the doorway. Then the builder rebuild it, block by block, if he has enough supply, walk towards him and he say: "Need cobble 128" that means you need to pus 128 cobble stones in his (builder)chest. The other problem can be the old property file you use, but I cant find the good one know :\

I think the actual determination of your facing is sometimes a little flaky (weird becase i actually copied notchs code), so don't think you can get away with facing 30 degrees off and assume it will get it right.

What I do is that I aim on the outerline of the chest, then place it. Or remove a block so you can stand on the good spot.

The builder will never destroy the old building, simply build over it and remove blocks it's told to remove... However on some upgrades there's no need to remove some block, so those are left to be a part of the next upgrade. Just always keep your back towards the door and you wont have direction problems
