HI, I am Joey Darkling. I will write this NOT just for you but the thousands that read the forum.
1: BACK UP YOUR minecraft folder BEFORE making any changes to it. ---a simple "copy" and " paste" to a different folder is all it really takes : 15 seconds tops :
After ( of before, so you do not forget ) you install ModLoader delete the META-INF file from the .jar file.
Now : to Install Modloader try THIS : The first step is to go and download ModLoader for your Minecraft Version : * What I have done is create a folder to copy and extract the Archive into so I have a complete file to fall back on if things go Bonkers. ------------ DO NOT copy the actual Modloader Zip into the .jar file you will get "Suckatashed". ----------- What you’ll want to do next is go to your Windows Start Menu, go to Run, and input “%appdata%”. This should bring up your applications data folder. From there, go to “.minecraft” and then navigate into “bin”. You then need to open minecraft.jar with WinRAR or 7zip, or whatever other archiving program you use. From there, you want to drag and drop the files from the ModLoader archive into the minecraft.jar archive. After that, there is a folder called “META-INF” in the root of this archive. Delete that entire folder. This is important and necessary.
Macintosh : ( NOT MY Instructions: I do not use Apple Products, too spendy , I got these off a site )
1. Go to “Applications” then “Utilities” and open the terminal. 2. Type in the following: cd ~ mkdir mctmp cd mctmp jar xf ~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar 3. Away from the terminal now, you’ll want to copy all files into the “mctmp” directory 4. Back in the terminal, type the following: rm META-INF/MOJANG_C.* jar uf ~/Library/Application\ Support/minecraft/bin/minecraft.jar ./ cd .. rm -rf mctmp Now you’re all done.
If you have a bigger problem with it because things are not working as planned : delete the edited folder : copy your backed up folder to it's location and return here : the members will try to help you with your particulars.

That's pretty much exactly not what he was asking. Where are you trying to download ModLoader from? I don't see why you would get an error like that, ever. You should be downloading the .zip file from Risugami's Mediafire account linked on the ModLoader post in the official forums. Here is the direct link to ModLoader 1.2.5. If you were downloading it from anywhere else, I highly suggest running an antivirus scan.
