Since some of you might be new and not know how this works, I'm going to try to explain as simply as I can.
When Minecraft updates, the code is all jumbled up. Notch does this because in certain countries, that's the only way he can keep copyright of Minecraft. Before modders can mod the new version, they have to un-jumble it. Some modders can do this quickly, either because they're crazy good at it, or because (like with ModLoader) the mod itself is actually pretty simple, so they don't have to figure all of it out.
Our modders wait for other people to figure out the entire code. That project is called the Minecraft Coder Pack. AFTER the MCP is updated, the MineColony devs can start updating MineColony.
Now, usually when Minecraft updates, the devs are already in the middle of a project, like re-doing the farmer AI or making the Builder more efficient. They can't just translate the code over, because it will just break. They have to finish the project they're on, at least enough that the mod can run, before they can put out an update.
Obviously, with all this going on, it takes awhile to get an updated version of MineColony out.
There will never be a new version of MineColony out right when Minecraft updates.
It just can't work that way. Most major mods work the same way, so don't think that the MineColony devs are lazy or anything. It's just how modding works if the mod is any kind of complicated.
Once the devs have a (mostly) working version up, they post it to this forum as a beta. That thread gets put up as an announcement, which means it shows up at the top of EVERY board.
When the new version is out, you will know. Nobody really knows how long that will be until it actually comes out, including the devs. This is because problems can crop up at any time during the process.
Usually the beta works fine, and the devs finish whatever project they were working on before Minecraft updated, and use the beta for testing those new or improved features. Sometimes it gets good enough that they decide it's out of beta, but sometimes Minecraft updates before that point.
Whenever you use any mods for Minecraft, even ones that aren't MineColony, don't update your game right away if you want to keep playing with your mods.
You can have multiple installs of Minecraft if you want to play the newest version, but keep your mods. (Google for "Minecraft Portable")
Don't ask about MineColony updates. You'll know as soon as anyone else does. Nobody can give you a good answer. Do not ask.
